It’s that time of year when we’re forced to think of where we have been and where we want to go. I was inspired by this post a that friend shared, and I also know that if we write something down and tell someone we’re going to do it, we’re more likely to do. From what may seem trivial to more philosophical thoughts, I’m laying it all out.
I am writing these in short, list form. I’ll call it staccato writing. Quick, concise, to the point. I am using punctuation in the header because it’s not just an idea, it’s a statement – a declaration, if you will.
- Find a new home.
Buy a house or something that feels more like mine. Create ownership and be proud.
- Socialize my dog more.
Go to the dog park. Get another pup. Must first do #1.
- Keep in touch better with friends.
Call them. Plan more events. Brunch?
- Focus on teeth.
Floss regularly. Use whitening kit. Teeth are the roots to your health.
- Do yoga.
At a place. Regularly.
A book each month. The more I read the easier it’ll be to write.
- Write. Keep this blog updated.
Write it down when I hear it or think it. Everything. Don’t judge.
- Learn ballroom dance.
I have classes! Schedule them and go.
- Cook more.
Learn new, healthier recipes. Use Pinterest. Watch more cooking shows.
- Stop thinking I have to get it right on the first try.
Life is a bunch of drafts. There is no final draft until the end. And then there are no rewrites.
- Think positively.
Believe what you want to be. Pretend the desired outcome.
- Focus on saving.
Put money aside to get the things I want. Dream with intentions.
- Visit a place.
It can be near or far. But get out and see something new.
- Be more friendly.
Everyone has obstacles. You don’t know what others are going through.
You don’t need to put up a guard to protect yourself. Be strong-willed.
Tell people how you feel. Sharing is caring and no one will know unless you tell. Keeping it in doesn’t do you any better.
