Little no longer

She wakes early to get to the men behind bars.
Wearing conservative clothing, she cannot attract looks.
Her day may consist of spatting, feces or threats.
Much of the time there is silence. Blank stares. No life.
Some are saved. But most are just there.
It’s not about rehabilitation, but an attempt at some standard of living.
She hears of awful stories and is yet able to instill a sense of hope.
My little sister is doing bigger things with her life to save others’.
